How to install the software from the Setup CD or from the Setup & Manual site (wired LAN connection)

Installing Canon printer software is simple whether you have the Setup CD or want to download the software online. For a wired LAN connection, make sure your printer is already connected to the network before starting the installation.


Steps:

  • Turn on your Canon printer.
  • Connect the printer to your network using an Ethernet cable.
  • Close other programs on your computer.
  • Open ij.start.canon.
  • Select your printer model and operating system.
  • Download the recommended setup file.
  • Open the downloaded file.
  • Follow the instructions on the screen.
  • Select your printer when it appears.
  • Complete the installation.

Install Using the Setup CD

If your computer has a CD/DVD drive, you can use the supplied Setup CD.

  1. Insert the Setup CD into your computer.
  2. Open the CD drive if it does not start automatically.
  3. Run the setup program.
  4. Click Yes if Windows asks for permission.
  5. Follow the installation instructions.
  6. Select your Canon printer.
  7. Continue with the network setup.
  8. Wait for the software to finish installing.
  9. Click Complete or Exit when finished.

If you do not have the Setup CD, you can download the software online.

  1. Visit ij.start.canon.
  2. Choose your region if requested.
